Photo24 - London 2013

To celebrate the Summer Solstice on the 21st of June I took part in 'Photo24' organised by 'Digital SLR' and 'Advanced Photographer' magazine and sponsored by Samsung. Over 150-people had registered for the event which was very well organised and started in Covent Garden at the Kingsway Hall Hotel.

On the Friday I took a total of 429-photographs from 6pm onwards. This was the start of a marathon 24-hour photo-shoot. On this day I walked from Great Queen Street, through Covent Garden and down along the Strand to Trafalgar Square. From there it was down Horse Guards Parade and then around Westminster Bridge and the South Bank for sunset and night shots.

22nd of June - day 2... only 349 photographs on the day as the weather was 'variable'!.

The route for the day started from Vauxhall, then over the bridge and along the embankment up towards Sloane Square. Next, on the tube to London Bridge then walking along the Embankment, across the 'Wobbly Bridge' to St Paul's and then around the City and then to Liverpool Street station. Finally a trip to Tottenham Court Road, the British Museum and then by foot back to Great Queen Street. I was shattered but it was a great experience and I could well be tempted to take part again if there is another event organised... once my feet have recovered!

I'll be adding some of my favourite images to my website in the next few weeks but in the meantime I have created 2 Flickr galleries - one for each day - please have a look at the edited highlights and let me know what you think.
