I have finally managed to see the annual Swan Upping on the river Thames. Luckily it started just after our return to the UK from Portugal and Shepperton Lock was the first lock that the procession passed through.
The timings of the event are always approximate and I just made it with about a minute to spare as unfortunately there were less cygnets to count this year so the procession arrived early. The Queen's Swan Marker David Barber was present in his uniform and it was a fascinating event to observe.
