I graduated in 1990 from the Kent Institute of Art and Design with a BA (Hons), having studied graphic design and photography. Since April 2008 I have progressed my photography on a semi-'professional' basis after leaving the Civil Service following 15-years service.
I was awarded the internationally recognised Distinction of ‘Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society’ (LRPS) and am currently working towards my Associateship. I am also a member of the Bureau of Freelance Photographers and the Richmond and Twickenham Photographic Society (RTPS). I hold a Press Pass and regularly post photo stories to online press agencies.
My work comprises of editorial stock photography (particularly travel) - I provide 'LatitudeStock' (a specialist travel photography agency) with travel images and also 'Alamy', an online photographic stock library. A significant amount of my work is outdoor family portraiture and photo shoots for clients' websites (please visit my 'Testimonials'
page for family feedback). I also have a best selling range of photographic greeting cards on sale in a number of retailers including Waterstones (click here
to have a look). To date I have sold over 19,600 greeting and Christmas cards. My range 'Icons of London' is on sale in central London shops and in local branches of Waterstones.
I enjoy combining my travel ‘wanderlust’ with photography and have visited a number of countries in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australasia. I shoot in 'Raw' and all of my photographs go through a 'post-production' process using Aperture 3 software and Photoshop for the Apple Mac and are supplied to clients key-worded with complete and detailed metadata.
I use a Canon 5D Mk 3. The three main lenses I work with are Canon 'L' lenses - my 'workhorse lens' the EF 24-70 mm f/2.8L IS USM, an EF 70-200 mm f/2.8L IS II USM and for occasional use the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. I also use polarisers and a Lee filter system with Neutral Density (ND) and ND graduated filters along with a Canon Speedlite 580EX E-TTL II Flash to assist with challenging lighting conditions during family portraiture sessions and press work.
